Who am I?

I am currently a full-time rehab technician at a skilled nursing facility in LA county. My daily workflow usually consists of tracking patient transfers/admissions, coordinating treatment schedules for 40+ therapists across multiple disciplines, communicating with other departments to determine specific patient needs/requests per day, and assisting the rehab director in day-to-day tasks managing caseloads of up to 200+ patients. The job is nice, stable, but not where I want to be in life.

I have always been a creative hobbyist, so I wanted to turn my creative passion into a career outlet that I’ll enjoy for many, many years. UIX design just so happens to be the perfect fit for me. At my core, I love communicating and collaborating with others. I love the versatility in day-to-day workflows and the ability to feel like I am working towards a goal. Not everything is sunshine and rainbows though. I love a challenge and enjoy the infinite process of discovery, ideation, and testing. Working through solutions and finding ways they can be improved is a high that I’ll chase forever.

My journey isn’t perfect.

Sometimes, I follow a path that leads me astray. I get lost in the forest, fall in the mud, break my tools, and somehow lose HP in the process. It’s a grueling expedition from time to time, but there is one constant.

I always find a way to move forward.

No matter what happens, that’s the direction I move in while going through my design process. How can I learn? Grow? Improve? When I make mistakes or think I’ve hit a dead end, I pause, reflect, and come up with a new approach. Resilience is the key.

My discovery process is always mapped out in Figma! Curious? Let me know here. I’m more than happy to share 🙂
